Stopped here for lunch on our way home from a wedding and so glad we did. What a find! Cozy restaurant / boutique. Food gives meaning to the word “homemade” and is served on Polish Pottery. The desserts ? .........outstanding. Will definitely return.

First timers from Omaha for some lunch and shopping with my hubby. We had the Asian wrap and the croissant turkey sandwich with coconut cream pie all outstanding. Service wonderful and atmosphere very cool lots of Polish pottery for sale which they also serve on. Touch was polish pottery with fresh flowers on every table so adorable!

We had the best lunch here today! We were a group from California, Colorado and Kentucky in town for a wedding at Arbor Day Farm. This lunch was the freshest, most delicious food we've had during our stay in Nebraska City. It was as good or better than mom's chicken noodle soup or our own homemade sandwiches and salads. Don't get me started about how yummy the desserts are. The staff was very attentive and gracious to our rather needy table and the owner was very hospitable. If you're coming to Nebraska city, you must eat here!

The Keeping Room was Nebraska Passport stop number 59 for us in 2024. We heard all about the great desserts, but we were in need of some lunch, so we settled for some comfort food instead -- meatballs, mashed potatoes, and green beans. After our lunch, we toured the rest of the establishment, which seemed to go on forever. Many of the displays were extremely well done, and I especially enjoyed marveling at the seven (or eight?) foot tall baker's rack.

Very cute place; charming and welcoming decor. I had a salad that came within minutes of ordering. Very crispy and fresh with apples, nuts, and chicken. Excellent homemade vinaigrette. The only thing that needs work is the sign stating to wait until seated. You will wait a long time, even if nearly empty. Easiest to seat yourself as others have said.

I’m in town for a wedding at The Lied. A friend from Grand Island said that I had to visit and eat at the KR. She was right! What a lovely shop and great restaurant. The Apple, feta cheese, walnut salad was perfect. The beautiful collection of painted dishware for sale and used for serving meals is wonderful. Fresh flowers on the homie wooden tables is very relaxing. Thank you!

Very cute dining area, yummy food. Couldn't fit a dessert in, but the dessert choices looked really great. Might plan to just go for dessert.
